Day 2 in Richmond and we are drying out in the camp after a late night of very close thunder & lightening. We head into town again - this time to the sister American Civil War Museum, Historic Tredegar.
We spend a couple of hours touring the two Museums here which are in the old ironworks factories.
Across the road from this is the river and we wander over and eventually find the walk bridge which hangs under the road bridge that goes over the Belle Isle.
This turns out to be where all the locals go for a swim, run etc - an island in the middle of the river that was used to detain POW's during the civil war but is now a city park.
The water was pretty warm and we enjoyed tipping our toes in for a while.

The view from the river back across into the city.
We finally found the State Capitol building but couldn't get any parking except 5 minutes, so ran into the grounds for a quick look.
