North Platte to Grand Island

It had to happen........

This morning we headed out on our way to our next stop, further across Nebraska only to get down the motorway and know the motor home was not running right.  We turn back into the nearest off ramp and go down to a truck repairer to see if they can help or tell us where to go.  They didn't do petrol engines and suggested the local GM dealer back in town so we limp over that way and pull in close by to go and see their service department.   The guy there tells us he has no one to work on it for 3 days as someone is away.........  There is another place across the road, Bud's so we wandered across to see them hoping for better news.  This was a black t-shirt kind of place and guy wasn't very interested and they were booked out too, but eventually he agreed to put a diagnostic computer on the RV.  So we drove her across the road to the liquor store car park next door and another guy came out and tested her - she wasn't firing on 4 & 6.  No wonder she wasn't running right.    Daryl talked briefly to the guy who told him to take the engine cover off - after some trial and error, we had to take the seat out to get this off - we gain access and find 3 burnt wires!

We unhook the car and down the road we go to the auto store, where we have some terminology laughs over plugs/leads but are able to get what we need.

Daryl replaces the leads, while I sweep out all the mice/rat poop from around the engine......think we had an extra camper while it was stored.

Around 12.30pm we are done and pack up to head on our way - just as well the next camp is not too far away today!

We stayed at Grand Island KOA which is actually nowhere near Grand Island and we had a bad site with no shade and a very bright light all night, rather than the nice shady spot we booked on net!

The sunset was pretty nice though and we packed up for an early start tomorrow down to Salina, Kansas.
