On our way to Salina early this morning as there is a car show to see........... We are also hoping to catch up with Jimmy & Kerry Keeys who are floating around over here too.
Some of the cars we passed along the way.
Back into Kansas......... at least it turns out the east side of the state is the more interesting!
We stay at Salina KOA as it is the only place with a half decent rating and had space, so we grabbed it. It was okay and not too far from the event so turned out pretty good in the end.
After setting up we shoot into town to find the event and see what is going on and manage to find this without too much trouble. We walk around the cars that were there as it is first day and things are still being set up and then head over to the hall for the trash and treasure - mostly trash!
Just a few of the interesting ones.......Daryl has facebooked others for the car junkies.
It is stinking hot and the humidity is high, so we are dripping.
Back at camp, the radio breaks in with warnings for high winds and tornado threat.....oh great! We listen to these warnings breaking through for hours and batten down the hatches for the gale force winds and hail to follow.
In the end, we did get about half an hour of strong winds and heavy rain - the hail didn't eventuate and we survived unscaffed, so all good.
We missed Jimmy & Kerry at the show but go round to there motel to catch up later. Great to catch up with these guys and be able to talk Kiwi stuff.
