Las Vegas - 3 Days

Las Vegas was so hot...115F each day and our air conditioner in the RV couldn't handle it - neither could I this time.  We spent a lot of time in the pool or shopping.

On our last night in Vegas, we head down to have a look at old town again as it was quite neat in 2009, although not very popular.  We were surprised to find this is now the happening place and it was humming as the party place to be with bands and people everywhere.

You can even zip line or zoom line the length of Fremont Street above the crowd now.

Anyway, we will let the photos tell the story for you.

No, that is not Daryl...

'Ride em cowboys'
Love these bar stools - so cool!

Daryl's comment was that the girls above had good balance....... hmmmm

The front view of this guy was even scarier..... that's not me either....

We cruised back through the strip which was practically dead in comparison. The fountains were still going, but lots of buildings were gone since last time and definitely not the happening place to be now.

Early to bed for us as it's morning already......

Tomorrow we head for Bakersfield.

Cedar City to Las Vegas

We've done eight states on this trip.... in a big fat loop.  Cutting across Arizona for an hour or so from Utah before hitting Nevada on our way to Las Vegas, where we want to relax for a couple of days before having to pack everything up and head home again.

If you have done this trip as many would have, you know it is a long boring trip with not much to see....

 The long and windy road............

Roadworks in USA are not like roadworks in NZ, for one thing there is none of this slowing down to 30km - you slow down to 55 miles, over 100km.

We did suck it in squeezing through the barriers above which were very narrow when towing a car hauler.

Las Vegas in the background - we head straight for camp and the swimming pool!  It's about 115F, (in the 40's) and so hot it's like being microwaved.

Heber City to Cedar City - Kolob Canyon, Zion

Heading out of Heber City, we pass through the lakes back to the I15 - some very pretty scenery again.

Waterfalls and canons as we make our way south to Provo, which looks pretty nice also.  We would have a better look around here if we find our way around this area again.

Lavender fields make a change as head down the I15.

We stop and camp at Cedar City KOA.  We have the afternoon free so go to Kolob Canyon which is another part of Zion National Park - we did a different part on our first trip in 2012.

Again it is striking countryside and the immense size of these mountains blows you away - they are impressive.

She's still pretty hot and getting hotter as we head south towards Las Vegas.

Need the air conditioning on all the time now - all night too.
