Heading into Lawrence to see what is there we find a nice little town with Markets on, so wander around the markets first and talk to a stall owner who is making pastries - Daryl tells her she must make pies and she is very keen on this idea. She gives us one of her pastries to try - it was nice but nothing like our pies back home.
Daryl tries the barber shop for a hair cut but it is so busy we decide to come back later and go down town to poke around in second hand shops for interesting things.
The barber is still busy - what a business! We wait about 40 minutes until one of them comes free
and he gets his hair cut - not short back and sides like a lot of the others we have seen going out!
A real old fashion Barber shop...................
After this we head into Kansas City to see what is there and take a punt on the back road which came out by the Speedway....... very large but nothing on today.
Travelling further on we cross the hub of the railway which is huge with to many lines to count coming in and out.
The sky turns back and we decide we had better head back to camp so try to find a way out as some of the ramps are closed......we end up in a not very nice area of town and keep driving until we can find a way back to the freeway - scary. The rain comes and then looks to pass - we decide to ring the camp to make sure all is okay there and we do not need to rush back - the sun is out over there!. So we stop at Legends Outlet Shops to see if there are any bargains - I need some new jandals as my a worn out. New jandals in tow, we check out some other shops and then watch the band play for a while before heading back to our camp.
