Natural Bridge to Richmond

Reasonably early start today sees us on the way to Richmond, capitol of Virginia.  We are staying at Ashland just north of Richmond and once we have set up camp, we head into Richmond to see what is around.

It's about 3pm when we arrive at one of the war museums along side the Confederate White House.

Some of the artwork in the museum.............

We took the 4pm tour of the White House of Confederacy, which was home to President Jefferson Davis during the civil war.

The tour was interesting with the house done in period furniture and art.  Unfortunately no photos are allowed to be taken so you just get the outside!
We have to leave the museum at 5pm as they are closing and the sky is turning greyer by the minute, but we take a walk around the corner if an effort to find the state capitol building however, it is further than we thought and the sky is now nearly black and threatening to dump on us big time - we make it back to the parking garage just in time and wait it out.

A couple of pics of the architecture in the city of Richmond - great old buildings.  Very English as are all the names over on the East.

We get back to camp in time to get the downpour in our area!!!  She was a wet old night full of thunder & lightening.
