Ark Encounter

The camp recommend this as the must do attraction, so we head off about half an hour north to the Ark.


This s a huge set up in the middle of farmland.  They charge you $10 to park at the gate and bus you in - the cost was $85 for two!

The ark has only been open a month and has had 150,000 people through already.


It is 510ft long, 85ft wide and 51ft high, plus has 3.1 million board feet of timber.

Some of the woodwork can be appreciated and obviously a lot of preparation has gone into this exhibit, which shows both the religious and scientific views and then has tapes running as why the religious view is correct.

This complex is not yet finished but open for business and after spending an hour or so here, with people of many different types, I was disappointed in this 'encounter' and felt it was extremely overpriced. 



Oh yeah and the timber was Radiata Pine from NZ.................
