Surrey, Canada to Leavenworth, Washington

As we leave Canada, again, we pass the Peace Arch on the border, symbolizing peace between the two countries.

We turn East before Seattle and a little down the road we come across this poor RV'er - must of just happened but all were out and safe.......just to make his day it caught fire as well!  Lesson - watch where you pull over.....

A very scenic route along the 2 with the river aside the road most of the way.

There was a huge amount of cars coming the opposite way and backed up for miles - so glad we weren't going that way.   Later we found out there was an International Accordion Festival and Car Show on in Leavenworth that weekend.  We were arriving on Sunday afternoon so missed all this, but the town was still done up for the event.

After setting up camp we call into town to see what it is all about. Leavenworth is a Bavarian Village (much like Solvang in CA) and also a ski resort town, so has something going all four seasons.

Back at camp and we fire up the barbie again - lamb chops tonight (they were Australian so not as good as ours but still a nice change).

Our site is on a hill above a river - this is the view out the front window - pretty nice aye.
