Floating through Glaciers - Day 1

Day 1 of our Cruise.........

The scenery is stunning as we float through the Gulf of Alaska entering into Yakutat Bay.

Seems unreal to be sunbathing by the pool while floating past mountains of snow and ice in the water but we made time to catch some rays.

By mid afternoon we arrive at Hubbard Glacier which comes down to the sea - spectacular view from the boat of the glacier and surrounding mountains.

Blinding the natives as we make use of the steam room, sauna, spa & pool.

We even joined in the ball room dancing class  which was entertaining......

Large icicles floating past with the odd seals on board.

It is hard to describe as you just can't get the feeling without being there - fantastic views, colours and scenery make up the wonderful sights we see.  The noise of the ice cracking off and breaking into the sea is amazing and fantastic to see, great shot if you are fast enough to catch it.

A little more relaxing before we float away from the glacier....

We head in and get ready for dinner at one of the many restaurants on board and decide we like the cruise far more than the land tour!!
