Off to the Post Office we go, which was almost as bad but not quite - at least it had only two digits!!! Just as well we have two lots in this box!
Heading back we pass through Monture Falls and stop for a look but just in time to see the cars drive out.
Pic of the falls at the end of the main street in town. We head for Watkins Glen to see the cars as that's where we think they were heading.
Arriving in Watkins Glen the town is just growing as people gather for the event - cars on display everywhere...........
All vintage cars, some lovely old sports cars.
Ben & Jerry's - made me think of you Mel.
After a couple of hours walking around town and seeing all the cars & lunch, we head down to the marina to see what is there.
We book a sailing trip for tomorrow night on True Love, the sunset cruise.
This area reminds us of Queenstown, very scenic.
Next stop, Lafayette Park for the Corvette display. We find this little gem parked across the road! The interior was all leopard skin.
Back to town and they are driving the original race track - 6.9 miles around the town.
Daryl lollygagging with the owner of this E type Jag.
Watkins Glen State Park.
19 waterfalls in 1.5 miles, 832 steps!
Just to add some more walking, we did this trial from the lower falls to the upper falls and back again!
It rained last night so it was wet still.
Some cool waterfalls.
Calendar material - there is actually one available of all the falls in this park.
We get back down in time for the start of the big race, starting of course with the national anthem.
All the sheriffs department saluting during the American anthem.
And then they are off........
