Deer Park to Watkins Glen

We get the call from the garage this morning,  8 September - car is ready.

We pack up and Maria, the Romanian gal working at the camp comes to say goodbye.  She is studying to be a Doctor and has been lovely to chat to while we have stayed here over the last week.  Maria has been to the KOA at Watkins Glen and tells us it is okay so we book this as our next stop.

By the time we get the car sorted it is lunchtime and we leave Middleton heading north to Watkins Glen at the bottom of the Finger Lakes.

The seasons are changing and the excessive heat we have endured while crossing America is no longer here - the trees are starting to change colour in places but it will be another month before they are in full display, which would be stunning up here.
We arrive set up and go into town for groceries and find there is a vintage car show on this weekend ......
