Deer Park 4/9 to 7/9/16

The car is not good and will need to go into a auto shop for diagnostics as we do not know what is wrong with it.  It is Sunday and Monday is Labour Day so it is a waiting game as we don't risk driving anywhere.   Unfortunately the camp is full of 'weekend campers' and we are parked next to the worst group who start drinking when they get up and go all night- great!  We knew this weekend would be like this but hoped we would be in a quiet area.

We pass time until Tuesday and tow the car into Middleton about half an hour away to find out what is wrong.  It is not good news - the transmission has gone and the cost to repair her is high but in the end we fix her as we need her to get around.  It will take a day or two, so we go to Florida, NY as there is a camp advertising high rating reviews and we thought we would like a good place to wait this out as we will be stuck there.  We check in and drive but the camp turns out to be not appealing and the site has a permanent in it.  We return to the front desk and request a full refund - we will go back to Deer Park as the weekend is over and the camp has emptied out - it was much nicer than this one!

Mr Squirrel has been dropping acorns on our roof since we arrived - little darling!

Daryl sweeping off the acorns!

We have a couple of peaceful days in the camp as hardly anyone is there and we have moved sites out into the open so no more acorns on the roof!

Attempting to use the Wi-Fi which was pretty hit and miss - we finally worked out that any time they used the computer in the office, we got kicked off!

We had this whole loop to ourselves - really nice and peaceful.  In the weekend it had been chocka.

We talked with the Jamaican & Romanian couple that were working here on an abroad experience.  They get $9 an hour and pay $100 each a week for the camper they live in..........

The Nessink River runs through the camp.

Set up in our new site waiting for the car - it took two days for them to repair her.  Compulsory rest days!
