Minden to Lincoln

Leaving Minden we toss up to go to Kearney to a car museum we have seen advertised but the GPS tells us it is about 100m out of our way contrary to the road signs, so after a few miles we turn around and go there - it would have only been 10 miles of the route!

The museum is very well done and the cars are beautifully restored - worth a visit if you are around this way.

This car belonged to a guy when he was 16yrs old - first ride and eventually he had to sell it to accomplish other projects.  He tried to buy it back from third owner for years and finally about 10 yrs later the guy rung him as he was ready to sell.  He never got around to fixing her up and ended up doing the before and after display with another one he had tried to replace her with previously.

Neat display, even the service bell rang when you stepped on it!

Drive in movie...

Daryl has a new toy that he just can not be parted from!!!!!

As we near Lincoln we hit a thunderstorm with fork lightening and rain - she was getting pretty dark....... we ring for a site and get the last one we would fit in - lucky.   Really nice lady couldn't understand me on the phone, apparently I have an accent, anyway she held the site until we got there.  Then we had a mad rush unloading the car before another onset of heavy rain.  Reminded me of home only hot - still in the 30-40 degrees range.
