Golden to Estes

We are heading to Loveland for the Goodguy's Car Show on the 6th June and had been told about a place called Estes which is at the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Leaving Golden we head north up the 93 going thru Boulder, which looked like a nice town with a large University. Travelling on we decide to head for Estes even thou it is in the hills which we would rather avoid and stopped at Yogi Bears Jellystone Park as recommended, however, they only have back in's and there is no room for the car.  The lady suggested we go to Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort, so we head over there and check in around 1pm.

After lunch we head down town to check the place out - another tourist town, very nicely set up in the mountains and quite picturesque.   Lots of jewellery and gift shops and guess what Daryl found... more boots!
Nice look Daryl, and another blonde.....

We head back to camp and come across some of the local wildlife which it appears is going to abundant up here.  You have to watch out for them on the roads thou.

Here's some shots of the elk & deer in our camp.  Lots of squirrels & chipmunks too.

Pool & hot tub at camp - mountain views & snow capped on other side
The Elk in camp....

Daryl checking out the Tee Pees for rent.....think we stick with our RV!
