Next stop, Pagosa Springs, Colorado...... We pulled into Pagosa River RV Camp & set up site. It doesn't take us long these days as we are dab hands after four years of RV'ing.
Many of the permanents have hummingbird feeders and we love watching these delicate little birds feed as we do not have them down in New Zealand - pity they are so beautiful.
Next morning we head out and take a drive around - we find subdivisions around the Lakes with lots of cool log houses.
We stop and have lunch at Two Chic's & a Hippy Café which turned out to be a great find with good food and lovely people, plus very reasonably priced. Heading down town we take a walk around across the bridges by the Springs Resort Pools and then around the town checking out the shops.
The hot springs pools have 27 pools of varying temperatures and sizes to choose from. Lots of people have hired tubes and are floating down the river, which also has some natural hot pool outlets.
We check out some cool shops - lots of collectibles and also a large cowboy style shop with some neat stuff.
I fell in love with some boots but they were $799 so sadly they are still there! |
Floaters down the river... |
We head into the Springs for some relaxation in the hot mineral waters and find pools ranging from about 94F to 112F.........108F was about my limit - cripes that was hot enough to cook in.
A relaxing afternoon in a lovely setting, but not cheap at $26 each they know how to charge!
