Gallup to Alburquerque

We arrived into Gallup in the dark, found the RV park which was situated on the famous Route 66, seems it was not the safest area as we were warned not to go for a walk out on the street when we checked in. This morning Daryl went for a bike ride (in the frost as very cold ice everywhere), (so cold Daryl has been wearing socks to bed !!) to the gas station to get bread for toast for breakfast and he could see why........ not so pretty, working town....... politely put.

We made our way to Albuquerque on the I-40, which was a couple of hours drive being passed by 18 wheeler trucks as the speed limit is 75 mph we cruze around 65 -70 mph, this still, gave us time to settle in early & catch up on the chores, laundry, shopping, cleaning & camping world to find new bike racks, the reason will be told at a later date. Unexciting but necessary.....

The RV Park had great facilities and we slept in before checking out their complimentary breakfast. Then we cruised up to Santa Fe via Madrid where Wild Hogg's was filmed.

A day spent poking around the shops in both places - Santa Fe old town is a great place to visit with charming decor and old town setting.

To top the night off, we took a tram ride up Sandia Peak and had dinner in the restuarant at 10378ft......it was very cold but the view was amazing.  Dinner was pretty good too!
