2015 - Newly married & on our Honeymoon:)
After our whirlwind wedding, a week of bliss followed by the week from hell with Daryl's father passing away, we have made it back to the USA - having booked the ticket last year on a special deal.
We arrive in LA to 26/27 degrees and a beautiful sunny day - blissful. Duane collects us from the airport as he was in the general vicinity dropping off other kiwis to head home and we take one of his trucks back to Bakersfield with a warning they had a dust storm about a week earlier.

Daryl unwrapping our baby - just like Christmas |
We find our baby tucked up behind his shed in her sleeping bag and set to work unwrapping her only to find an inch of dust inside having entered thru the range hood vent - yuk! The afternoon was spent cleaning her up and down.
Next day we pulled down all the blinds and curtains and washed them too - then up on the roof to clean up all the vents etc.

Ready to roll |

View from base camp - the foxes stayed shy this time. |

Base camp - aka Duane's |
4 days later we are ready to hit the road again at last - again many thanks to Duane and his hospitality.

Guess who crashed the party - Noddy |

A couple of happy couples |
So we head off for Napa thinking this will be central for a few days exploring the area. Having checked out the parks yesterday, we choose one showing 21 sites available - no problem. We phoned half an hour before arriving to be told - yes they have 21 sites but they are all reserved!!! Crap, on the road in torrential rain where we couldn't see the lanes in a six lane highway, towing a trailer and no where to go....hmmm good start. A quick phone call finds a place in Vallejo (Tradewinds) for the night and we grab it quickly.

Crossing Benicia (Carquinez) Bridge with San Fran Bridge in the background. $20 toll..... |
So here we are - our first camp for 2015......we hop on the net and have booked a nice camp for 3 days about 3/4 an hour north so it will be a late start tomorrow and a short drive to our new home for a few days.
