Arco to Heber City

If you look hard or open the picture up, you can see numbers all over the mountain in the background - these look to be the years and it stretches for miles above Arco township.  Not much else there to show you:)

And yeah Melanie, this is Idaho where the potatoes grow!

But we are now making our way south to catch our flight home, boo hoo, so down into Utah we go and head for a place called Heber City, off to the east of Salt Lake City in the mountains, - the town just before is another a ski resort area.

And Daryl has found another car show - guess he was over due for a fix......

The paint job on this pick up was something different - hard to tell what colour it actually is.

The Coke a Cola car came complete with bar stools to match....

Obviously they don't take it out in the rain - would be no good in NZ!

Some nice cars - not sure about the clothing fashion though.....

Sunset at the camp tonight.  Nice camp but full of kids and a movie late at night right outside our camper.....

Dillon to Arco - Craters of the Moon

On the road again......lots of neat barns along the way as we head down into Idaho.

The speed limit is 80 miles in Idaho and they go a lot faster than that.

A tad boring this morning with lots of hay bales as it appears this is where they grow hay for a living.

After making camp we head out to the Craters of the Moon - we missed this last time and had heard it was good.

This is a national monument and much like Hawaii's lava etc.

She was pretty hot, over 100F and not many were walking a round like the mad Kiwis.....

Witches brooms on the trees.......that is the correct name!

Daryl made me walk up this!!!!!!!

Amazing views from the top though.

Lava tunnels and caves - they have the lot here.  At least it was a bit cooler down there!

Back to camp for a well earned beer.

Missoula to Dillon - Virginia City

Okay, not sure I want to know........  one for the gals?????

This is cowboy country after all......

We move on early and make our way to Dillon, Montana, about an hour above the border to Idaho.

We ask what there is to see and get directions but after driving around for about an hour on gravel roads realise the guy has put us wrong......so decide to go to Virginia City to see whats there.

 A couple of old poses.....

Virginia City is a historic old town that they have kept going for the tourists - quite neat to look around.

One of a few saloons still running there complete with authentic props and blood on the ceiling.....

Ice cream for lunch - Huckleberry & Moose tracks again......cool old register.

One way to pass the afternoon and an interesting place to check out.

Nevada City, just down the road from Virginia City, but we didn't feel like paying the entrance fee by that time and was much the same as Virginia City....

Our little friend for this camp.......

Daryl catching some rays while attempting to clean the car.
